Make your own Velvet Cushion Cover Odile B

Instructions:

Cutting Fabric

  • Cut the fabric Tula Pink Suited and Booted
  • Be aware it is directional and you want all 4 strips to read properly horizontally
  • Cut two 2.5"x9" strips and two 2.5"x14" strips of the  fabric for the log cabin frame.
  • Cut one 17"x17" square of Tula Pink Suited and Boote fabric for the back panel.

 

Make the log cabin frame:

  • Take one of the 2.5"x9" strips and sew it to the top edge of the French velvet panel using a 1/4" seam allowance.
  • Press the seam towards the fabric strip.
  • Sew the other 2.5"x9" strip to the bottom edge of the French velvet panel using a 1/4" seam allowance.
  • Press the seam towards the fabric strip.
  • Sew the 2.5"x14" strips to the left and right edges of the French velvet panel using a 1/4" seam allowance.
  • Press the seam towards the fabric strip.

 

Sew in the zipper:

Pay attention to place the zipper on the bottom of the cover to not have your kitty cat upside down !

Assemble the cushion cover:

  • Lay the piece attached to the zipper
  • Pin the three raw edges of the cushion cover together.
  • Using a 1/2" seam allowance, sew around the three sides of the cushion cover that are not sewn to the zipper.
  • Turn the cushion cover right side out and insert the cushion.
